The US founded National Rifle Association (NRA) sticker on a car in London. The organisation is a gun’s rights advocacy group that was one of the most powerful special interest lobby groups in the US but declared bankruptcy in 2021 closing down its New York office, where it was originally founded after the Civil War, and reincorporating in Texas. The NRA used to be non-partisan before the 1970s but since then has increasingly espoused conservative viewpoints, drawing closer to the Republican Party and going beyond gun rights and the Second Amendment of the US Constitution. According to the NRA website regarding its presence in the UK: "Founded in 1859, the NRA is a registered charity with a Royal Charter, and National Governing Body of full-bore rifle and pistol shooting in the UK. Based at the world famous Bisley range complex since 1890, the NRA promotes and encourages marksmanship through competition and training."
